Barnboken: Journal of Children's Literature Research/Tidskrift för barnlitteraturforskning is a peer reviewed Open Access online-only journal published by the Swedish Institute for Children's Books with financial support from Vetenskapsrådet, the Swedish Research Council. Barnboken was founded in 1977 and has been an online-only journal since 2010.
Barnboken is the only scholarly journal in its field published in Sweden and the oldest Nordic journal of its kind. We publish articles in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, and English. All articles accepted for publication have been subject to a double-blind peer review process by at least two external peers.
We especially welcome articles of relevance to the Swedish/Nordic area. We strive to publish articles on children's and young adult literature that apply new approaches while integrating previous research in an innovative and creative way. The journal is also open to interdisciplinary studies from closely related fields.
Barnboken also welcomes reviews of recent theoretical literature within the field, such as anthologies, dissertations, and other scholarly monographs.

Barnboken: Journal of Children's Literature Research is a scholarly Open Access journal that publishes academic articles on children’s literature. All content is free from access barriers, allowing for global distribution. Barnboken has readers all over the world and the journal is indexed by numerous large international databases. The journal applies a thorough peer review process and has no publication fees (Diamond Open Access).
