Maria Jönsson is Professor in Literature at the Department of Culture and Media Studies at Umeå University. Jönsson's research focuses on children’s literature, literary didactics, queer temporality, gender and age. She has written a monography about Swedish author Kerstin Thorvall and has edited several anthologies such as Litteratur och läsning (2015), Du ska inte tro att du är något (2017) and Omsorg och ironi (2024).
