Louise Almqvist

Louise Almqvist is a researcher at Umeå University, Sweden. Her thesis Störande litteraturundervisning (Disruptive literature education2024) rethinks the relationship between the teaching of (children’s) literature and democracy, using agonistic, reader response and queer theoretical perspectives. Her research focuses on aspects of power and subjectivity, especially age, (dis)ability and sexuality, both within literature and in the use of it.
